Ignition Resistor Wire?

On a 71 Torino/Ranchero 351C 4V, where is the resistor wire located?
Wiring diagrams show it in the harness coming from the Ign Switch. But is it the wire from the Ign Switch on somewhere else along the wire path? Like between connectors or maybe from the last connector on the firewall to the Coil.
I would like to convert to 12V so I could run a Petronics Ign module and a 12V performance Coil.
Has anyone converted from Points to Petronics that can tell me how to find a non-resistor 12V ignition source.
Thanks.

Ignition Resistor Wire?

Unfortunately, I can't offer info on the 71s; however, it may be similar to the 66s. On the Mustang, there is a short lead out of the ignition switch with a bullet connector. The "pink" resistance wire (typically larger in appearance) connects at this point and runs to the large multiple wire firewall connector under the dash. The engine side of this connector leads to the coil and is a regular wire. In my case, I made up a new wire with the original style bullet connector, unplugged the resistance wire from the ignition switch connector, and plugged in this new wire. I made a separate fire wall pass through grommet for the new wire as I didn't want to cut or alter the original wiring harness ($$$). Since the original wireing remains in place (just unconnected), I could return to the stock type iginition by simply reconnecting the resistance wire at the ignition switch on one end and connecting up the original wire to the coil on the other.
