c4 torque converter stall

I'm had a c4 rebuilt recently and the guy who did it told me that the torque converter is out of a 351. I'm going to stick the trans behind a 302 with a lazer cam with 218 @ .050" and .485" lift, the engine has ported '70 closed chamber 302 heads with 1.95 inlet and 1.54 exhaust and a weiand xcellerator and 600DP, msd billet dizzy and 6al. I want to know if I can run this converter - or will it be too tight, and make it boggy at low revs?

c4 torque converter stall

With the double-pumper and single-plane intake on a small displacemet engine, you'll probably appreciate a 2500 stall better. Stock stall is probably around 1400 rpm. WIth a cam at 218 intake duration, you are on the bubble for needing more stall even if you had a vac sec carb and dual plane. I had a pan-fill C4 with a stock converter (about 12" in diameter) behind my mild 351C. It launched pretty lazy, even with the 3.55 gears. I put a case-fill C4 trans in with the stock-stall 11" converter, and the launch was better. Put the 2500 stall 11" in for more fun but worse mileage.
