But does the compression ratio play a roll in the gap?I thought they needed a bigger spark?

78 460 spark gap

Well I found my problem out yesterday.I had bought a 750DP from a friend @ work and it was too much for my stock engine.Did some reading at Holley's web site.Either the carb has a 50cc shot or the jets are for a Boeing 747....It may have something to do with the intake. But til I get the Stealth intake it is sitting on the shelf.I put the stock carb on it and it is running idling and getting up like a CHAMP!.It is idling at 700 and in gear it goes to 500 with out a hitch.

theres probably NOT enough spark since it been changed over to points.I tried that once to a 302 and it didnt work verry well.Put elect.ing back in it and gap the plugs at 45ish and it will handle it providing the jets arent to BIG.I have 76/82 in mine.Mine ran allright on a 260.It also had elect.ing
