Twin Turbo small block

Anyone or know anyone who has twin turbo'd a small block.
Looking to do something wild with a 67 coupe I've aquired.
This is my idea. Two Garrett T-4's,
8.5:1 comp..low to mid range roller cam
and aluminum heads, obviously fuel injected,
and also a liquid intercooler.
And a 6 speed to back it up.
I've heard of one other guy to do it and it was a pretty much stock bottom end 5.0 and he was punching 600 hp. (it was a 66 FB)

OHH damn ...Now it is going to get dangerous..
My fascination with the turbo thing has to do with dusting some eh German cars.,,cough,,RUF,,,
Btw thanks guys. I've just tuned into the site and I really like the vibe here and the info is top notch.
If this goes thru I will be doing a step by step build and dyno sheet.

Also with that site, if you have any specific questions, Mike is VERY helpful. Just write him an email, I wrote back and forth with him a few times when I was pndering a TT cleveland, he was great. I invited him here, hasnt shown yet, but if ya end up emailing him, give him another invite. Im sure we all could benefit from a guy like that posting

bill watson's HOT ROD mag cover car .. it's a twin turbo 5.0 making 500 some horsepower and torque at the wheels .. it's a very mild build too .. mild street cam, everyday aftermarket heads, and he ran it low 11's with street tires. he could turn that into a 9 second monster .. i'm gonna follow his plan when i get some dough, except it'll be a twin turbo roller 5.8 with pump gas compression, prolly around 10.4 with a z cam afr 205's and street/slick tires and a similar intake setup to his .. still streetable, but barely .. heh 800 rwhp sounds like a good goal.

I think 85Mike knows something of this. Seems he has some info on a SBF with twin turbos making close to 800 hp.

You might pm him if he doesn't show up here soon.

rj, are you gonna step in here?

Seriously, the T-4's are probably a bit big for a 302 or 351w. T-3's from a thunderbird turbocoupe are the best, if you're using a 302, use the turbos from automatic trans cars, if you're using a 351, use the turbos from a standard-trans car. They are almost a perfect match, and with a relatively "mild" 302, 450-500 HP should be easily attainable. I'm running a single turbo from a early powerstroke diesel on one of my maverick's, and it's quite a rush of power. It's a bit lazy down low, but that makes for great driveability around town, and about 20 mpg. There's also a huge wealth of information at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jyturbo/
Turbocharging is a very easy way to make a 302 more like a 514. The torque is truly amazing from such a small engine. I couldnt imagine a 351w!

Built a 326 stroker about 4 years ago for a twin turbo set-up. If you plan on much boost, invest in the best parts money can buy.
Turbo Technology in Tacoma, Wa. built the custom set-up on the car, as they had not done one before.
With 22lbs. of boost it made 753hp and pegged the torque meter at 1200. At the tires. Had to use c-16 gas at all time. Not cheap to operate.
This car ran a 9.67 the very first pass down the track. It needed some fine tuning in the chassis dept. I've NEVER been in a car from a roll that pulled like this thing.
