Anyone have or knows someone who has tried Barry Grant VFI?

I am probably going with a factory efi setup anyway but the concept of Barry Grants VFI seems good in principal. Has anyone tried this setup or know someone who has, is it the best thing since sliced bread or a waste of $2100. Thanks in advance.

Is it even out yet? I though it was supposed to be released this winter with the demon jr. line of carbs. And is that the price with the computer or just the unit, where did you find the price??
Thanks,

Ive been looking into that too! It seems cool due to the fact that you can bolt it on to any carb manifold and if you ever change engines or manifolds for different applications you can still have efi. Also the basic model supports up to 600 hp which is more than enough for the street and you still get efi fuel economy. Im just looking at the 2100 dollar price tag and wondering is that the price of the complete kit or just the unit? Where did you get that price, Ive been looking all over the net and cant find any info on the price?

Im just wondering does it improve drivability as well as low end torque and power like the factory 5.0 units?

I emailed Barry Grant about the vfi and this is what they said:

"we are in the process of redesigning the vfi systems and hope to re-release them in 2003."

So I guess they were "Flawed"

I got the price from the summit website just typed in the Barry Grant pn, they had that price but said it was on back order. The only report I got from an actual VFI user was at his website http://www.72chevelle.com he said it had a rich condition that nobody could solve so I guess that is why they are being re-released. It does seem like a cool idea but I doubt it could produce the same torque as the 5.0 setup because of the long runners of the 5.0 intake. Thanks for the replys so far guys.
