I met this guy the other day with an 03 mach 1 look a like. While talking about stangs he says he's seen a intake for a 4.6 modular motor that will accept a carb, he said its for racing only. I thought he was lieing because I thought that ford designed the mod motors strictly for EFI? Has anyone else herd of this, I think this guy is full of sh!t.

I would think that changing an engine over from EFI to carb would be fairly simple, but then I gotta ask...........Why???????

Someone correct me if I am wrong. But I think the reason you would convert over to a carb is to easily feed a lot more fuel into the motor than the orginal EFI was designed for. I have seen people do this on racing miata, putting on a set of webers and this is good for something like 30 hp on a 1600cc 4 banger. I would give you a lot more range of tuning ability as far as changing carb sizes, jets etc.

Sounds like snake oil to me. I've seen 4.6's in the 7's with injection & never seen one with a carb, you never know. I'd drop my Dominator for FI if I had the $$$!
