Aluminum Heads for a 302/347?

I've got a 302 right now, and will eventually be building a 347. Right now my engine has stock 289 heads on it. I'd like to find some good aluminum heads which will feed my 302 and also be adequate for the 347 down the road. This is a purely street engine, and I'm building for torque. I like the idea of Edelbrocks. Any other suggestions? I've got a 302 w/Edelbrock dual plane intake, 600 cfm carb, MSD ignition, 5.0 shorty headers, & mild cam. Thanks.

I'll be using some AFR 185s on my 331 stroker build.

My fresh Edelbrock Performer heads are for sale.

Really? How much are you asking for them?

i run alloy windsor snr's,i believe they are 1 of the cheaper windsor heads going around but they make pretty good power.

If you want torque, you want the smallest intake possible that flow as much as possible. IOW, I went with stock 351W heads that were fully ported. This increased the intake volume to 165 cc. In addition, these ports flow 220 cfm at .55 lift ( as good or better than edelbrock aluminum heads but smaller ports). These heads will do a very good job up to 6500 or 7000 rpm (great for a street car). AFR 185s would be a good choice too. To promote additional torque, use Tri-Y headers from Dougs headers or Ford Powertrain Applications.

I put AFR 185s on the 342" stroker in the Fastback. Just be sure to torque the rocker studs after aligning the pushrod guideplates as AFR ships them untorqued.
