how much compression

picked up a 69 351w a while back and its set up at 11 to 1 compression trw domed pistons and a pretty hot cam (not sure of the specs.) heads were ported , polished chamber work, screw in studs ect. How much compression can I run on pump gas.

If the heads are alum you can prob. get away with the 11:1. With good pump gas that is. If they are iron you might need a little octane booster to keep it from pinging.

I had about 11:1 with iron heads on my 302 and hot muggy days caused the car to start pinging under load. With a alum head swap it hasn't pinged with 93 octane.
