need help with EFI conversion

want to do a MAF efi conversion on my 65 mustang. gonna use standard trans so i know the A9L is the best comp to go with. What about wiring harnesses. I know ford racing has one for a little over $200 with and instruction manual, is this everything or do i need more wiring harnesses? what about using one from a 89-93 mustang. Is there much modification to do to one of those? what about one from a 94/95 mustang, will that work with the A9L comp? any suggestions would help. thanks.

try painless wiring, they have one, granted its for $500 but the Ford Racing doesn't have everything with it that you need. The painless does.

Ron Francis wire Works 1-800-292-1940 has everything you need. I did my coupe with his kit, no problems wired the whole car.
Windsor-Fox also sells a kit.

If you decide to use the OEM harness it should be the '89-'93, as there were several changes and extras in the later 5.0 Stangs. They are not pinned for the A9L anyway, would need some wiring changes, or the '94-'95 computer. Just get the EVTM for the year harness and start wiring. Also don't be afraid of the A9P automatic computer. A few over on the Corral say they run a little better, but most say there is no difference.

Oh yea, what engine do you have in your Stang? The HO computers are setup to operate the 13726548 firing order. Could get around this with some wiring changes.
