Is My Timing That Far Off?

Reciently dropped my newly rebuilt 347 stroker in my toy. Im running MSD Pro Billet Distrubitor, and with it stabbed TDC and the wires in firing order. But my only cylinders that are firering are "1,2,6,8" Anyone w9ith a similiar problem or is my timming chain off a tooth? Thanks

I would check to make sure what the fireing order is with the cam, 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 old style small block, or 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 windsor-late model, then recheck the wires.

I have also put the dist in 180* off before.

Good luck

Timing being off would affect all cylinders equally as would having the timing chain a tooth off. Sounds like you either have a 351W cam with the plug wires set in the cap according to the 302 firing order or vice versa. Half the cylinders in both 302 and 351 follow the same firing order which is why you're running on only four cylinders.

PS Write out both firing orders, one directly over the other and circle the cylinders that are the same in both.
