289 HiPo Cam?

I have a camshaft marked with a VE (with an X below it) between the last lobe and journal. Actually the V looks like an upside down A. The 289 Hipo cam is supposed to have VE between the distributor gear and journal at the front of the camshaft. Any ideas what cam this may be?

This is an original 289 HiPo cam (mech).

The only one I see marked with an X was a UA, which is a 63-69 289/302 hydraulic.

Hm...........well, off-hand, I'd say that's more than likely the HiPo cam. What the X is there for, I don't know. That could possibly be one of the "LeMans" cams I've heard of.

I have a friend with one of those. I'll check with him to see if his had an X on it.

all i've found so far is the C5ZZ casting numbers
