There are four bolts that hold the rails to the lower manifold. Remove those and you can pull the rails up and away from the manifold, the injectors will come out with the rails. To remove them from the rails, just yank them out. Just remember to use a dab of oil on the o-rings when re-installing them.

It runs exhaust gas back into the intake for emission purposes. And it ain't good, it heats the upper intake and also the incoming air. Giving you a less dense air charge.

instead of just yanking them out which could damage the o-ring, I prefer to grab the injector and as I'm pulling on it gently with slight force I'm also rocking it in a circular motion until it starts to come away from the fuel rail or the intake. Sometimes the injector stays stuck in the intake when you pull the fuel rail from its mounting location.

Do the dab of oil on the o-rings before installing yes, but also make sure the mounting bosses for the injectors on the intake and the fuel rail is clean, all it takes is a bit of dirt or dust and you could have a clogged injector, and try to not touch either end of the injector with your hands or tools or anything when they're removed.
