Will mustang suspension parts work for my 69 comet

I am rebuilding the front end on my 69 comet and I was wondering if anyone with a ford cross over book could tell me if these parts from a 69 mustang will work for a 69 comet? I'll be getting a new...

sway bar
upper control arms
lower control arms
tie rods
spindles
shocks
steering box
power steering
brake roters and calipers

THanks
George

The tie rods and centerlink might not be the same length between the two, but everything else should work except the shocks.

The '69 Comet is an evolution of the '66 Comet/Fairlane, on which the '67-'70 'stangs front suspension is based.

No, as long as the sector shaft is the same diameter, the steering box will work. Otherwise, swap pitman arms too. All intermediate Fords used the same style steering box in '69. And the ps boxes are 16:1 vs the non-performance manual 20:1.

I tried using a 70 cougar (mustang) box in a 69 torino and it didnt work, even with a different pitman arm, its where it bolts to the column thats different. Just something to think about.

the input shaft on a 67-70 mustang/cougar box is 6-3/16in. long, the shaft on a 66-67 Fairlane/Comet/Falcon is 39-1/2in. long, 68-71 Fairlane/Montego/Falcon is 7-3/16in. long. These are all power steering boxes. take your pick

if you buy a new mustang box, make sure you can exchange it when it doesnt fit. And dont MAKE it fit, not worth safety

I wish they were the same, I'd love one of them flaming river boxes on my Torino.

Hate the steering on it.
