Pertronix Ignitor and Ignitor II
The ignitor replaces the breaker points with an electronic sensor. Everybody I hear says they're good. The ignitor II goes a step further and also regulates the voltage to the coil. In order to keep the coil from overheating at low rpm, a resistor is built in the electrical system (in an old Mustang, it's the pink colored resistor wire from the ignition switch). At higher rpm however, the coil could use a higher voltage but doesn't get it due to the resistor. The ignitor II does not use the resistor but regulates the voltage depending on the rpm (similar to most OEM systems that where introduced in the seventies).
