porting question

i dont like the looks of this
the left is my ported exhaust port and the right is the header i am using. the problem i see is the header ports are 5/16" taller overall than the head ports. i can fill the flanges with weld and blend it all into the tube to have a smooth transition from the square exhaust port to a square flange and then into the round header tube. i can make this all very smooth and blend nicely. would it be worth it? is it a problem? it aggravates me. maybe im just too attentive to detail.

I'd leave it. Having the header inlet slightly larger than the exhaust port inlet can work as a bit of an anti-reversion device.

Only raise the roof alittle "the whole roof not just the very end", leave the rest alone.

I would leave it. If the ports were done by a pro, or with the aid of a flow testing, best leave them alone in my opinion. I have found on E7s and Ps that the exhaust port likes a little step, no less than 1/8", on the roof. Your CFM may vary....
