1.9 Engine Question
A friend of mine needs a 1.9 liter engine for his 1996 Ford Escort and is willing to trade me a cougar parts car for one. The problem is his car has a standard tranny, verses the two automatics I have sourced. My questions are: Does it matter what type of tranny the engine is attached to(auto/standard), and would it be a direct swap? I havn't checked yet, but my mom's also got a beat down 94 Tempo w/ a bad automatic. Any info is appreciated

1.9 Engine Question
Just did some quik research and found out that the tempo has a 2.3, opposed to the 1.9. Are the tranny mounts the same?

I don't think these two engines are interchangable.There is also the old 2.3 pinto/mustang motor that is totally different again from the 2.3 tempo/topaz.
