Paint Question

About $80~100 bucks a gallon? I don't know, but I'm sure there is little or no similarity. But, get a Wagner and shoot that car - we'll see what happens! (Besides massive orange peel)

If I remeber right, acrylic enamels are going away due to VOC restrictions.

Paint Question

Thanks Ckelly
How much paint will it take to do the Comet Do you know? KC Auto paint says a gallon? I though was a lot I painted my race car a Late Model Lite on an RX 2 chasie
twice with a gallon? Then they wanted $200.oo for a gallon of Paint with the reducer. I though S..t man for that I could get a Maco or an Earl's Job for that and not have to do any work..
Anyway how much paint should it take to Paint the Comet?

Paint Question

Depending on the color (how well it covers) you will be looking at about 3 quarts to a gallon. What color are you thinking? If you are going over a similar color it will take less than if you are changing colors.

Just remember, Maaco uses a synthetic enamel for their cheap jobs... crappy stuff (house paint it probably better).

Make sure you use hardner if you go with the acrylic enamel too, even the generic stuff is ok.

Good luck!

Paint Question

Acrylic enamel auto paint is petroleum based and will clean up with reducer or laquer thinner. Acrylic latex enamel house paint has a latex base and will clean up with water. They are two entirely different paints for two entirely different applications.
