Fuel Line Question?

I am upgrading my stock fuel line ( THE STEEL HARD LINE THAT GOES FROM THE GAS TANK TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT)and i wanted to know what size line i should get : 1/4", 3/16", 3/8", or 5/16".

I have a street/strip 351w that is making 450 horsepower and is using a Holley 130 gallon per hour fuel pump and a 750 mighty Demon carb.

please let me know thanks

Fuel Line Question?

Use a #8 braided steel hose from the tank to the pump or regular, #6 after that the carb. But you'll need to have a new pickup bung welded into the bottom of the tank. Otherwise you'll still have the small pickup tubing in the tank that'll make it all useless.

Fuel Line Question?

Or if you want the steel line go with 3/8" or 1/2".You will have to solder a bigger tube into the sender unit or a bung as mentioned.

Fuel Line Question?

take your original sending unit out and take it to a gas tank shop. They can redo your sending unit with a larger 3/8" pickup and tube and it will look original and work like the original. It shouldn't cost that much. I did mine that way on the granada and also have a new 3/8" steel fuel line made up like the original 5/16" line running under the car in the OE location and is working great, no issues at all.

FYI in case you're not sure 5/16" is smaller than 3/8" (which is really 6/16" ) and 3/16" is smaller than 1/4" (which is really 4/16" )
