Which App to use for a one wire Alt.?

What application should I ask for when I go to get a one wire Alt? The local parts idiots can only look up parts by application and not just the part. I want to use a one wire to simplify the install in my 80 hatch.

BTW does it have to be a GM part? or is there others available that will bolt on in place of my Motorcraft? Also I'd like more than the stock 60A if possible.

Maybe this will help. I bought a 110 amp 1 wire alternater from a company called Tuff Stuff. Seems like a good product and a simple install

I had some bad experiences with the stock alternator in my 5.0 because of the pulleys. Finally installed the powermaster 140amp one wire. No further problems. It was worth the extra money to get rid of the charging headaches and it fit the stock mount.

Some of the Merkurs (sp?) had a bosch 1 wire alternator (completely different from the GM) 1 wire... and they put out some outragious amperage... something like 100-130 amps.

Go get one at a junk-yard, or at the friendlylocal auto parts store... you won't have any GM parts on your car

Just installed the 140 amp Powermaster from summit(one wire) Just put my original pulley on it. Works great and simple to install. Had to get more amps for my 429 with 2 fans and electric fuel pump etc in my 1967 Fairlane. Very happy with mine!!!

I couldn't find it either, but saw it in the new catalog.

Jegs has the same thing actually a bit cheaper...

I saw the exact same one earlier when I was looking for the Scummit part. I just got my new Scummit book Tuesday and haven't even cracked the cover yet. Jegs part is looking pretty nice at less than $72 for 100A's.

Just got a Powermaster from Summit, 100 amp. Call and ask for one that fits a Ford. It's a GM style with a Ford front end to fit our brackets.
