302 HEADERS ON A 351W

CAN I USE 302 LONG HEADERS ON MY 351W IN MY 1969 MUSTANG COUPE? SOME HAVE SAID THEY WILL HIT THE FLOORBOARD B/C OF THE 2 INCH HIGHER DECK ON THE 351. DOES ANYBODY KNOW FOR SURE?

Been ther done that. Yes they will hit the floor pan. 351 has a taller deck height.

That sux, I bought the Holley headers about 2 years ago for this project (they are still new in the box). I was building a 93 5.0 for this 69 coupe and just as I finished the motor, it was stolen (the whole motor on a stand).
what do I do now? Anybody want to trade?
how much are these things bringing on ebay?

They probably won't fit but if you already have them I would give them a try.Occasionally depending on the header style they will work.Good luck.

i done the same changeover a few years ago 302 headers 351 engine and all worked out fine, iused summit headers, hope this help![img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

I used heddman shorties for my 351w in a 68 cougar, with stock 302 dual exhaust. had to cut and fit the hpipe to to headers, other than that, and easy install. pulls good thru 5500 rpm with a mid seventies smog moter and 2.73 gears, first gear is good for 60mph! check the heddman site and search for "351 windsor swap hedders". the nice thind is that they turn down near the firewall, dont get in the way of power steering, and the starter can be installed with exhaust in place.
