Master Power Power Brake Conversion
JC, the kit basically just includes a 9 inch booster and master cylinder combo, and a new pedal with a longer fulcrum.
To accomodate the booster, you have to open up the firewall slightly to make room, but that's really an easy task. The toughest thing about this installation is just reconnecting the brake lines because there's so little room to work with. Also, be sure to buy a set of various fittings, about 2 feet of brake line, a bending tool, and a flaring tool so you can run the new lines when you're done. A small investment there will make the whole thing much easier. Again, it's really an easy thing to do.
For a car with an automatic, putting in the new pedal was about as tricky as changing a light bulb! (I guess it's a little trickier with a clutch . . .)
My plan was to go to disc brakes, but my initial experience with the drum and the 9" booster is that I just don't see myself needing them now. I probably eventually still will just to say I did, but I'm very comfortable with the braking performance of the car.
