C 4 Crossmember

Replacing the lightweight FMX for a C4. Which C4 crossmember will work in my 69 Mach I? Will my FMX fit, or an x-member from a 65 C4 fit?, how bout from a Maverick, Comet, Falcon, Granda...Help!

i did that swap on my 69mach1 351w, crossmember will work on your 69, also the driveshaft, dont do what i did and change the flexplate from fmx to c-4 and not balance it, mine was way off when i drove it, bad vibation at low speeds, my engine guy who built my new 408 said that my flywheel was way off balance with the crank, make sure your engine has external balance or was it internal balance? think everything else was ok when we did the change over, have to think about it. what c-4 are you putting in large or small bell, 157 tooth or 164. make sure you know because they are differant. mine c-4 is from JPT, full manual. also case filled or pan filled.

The transmission cross member you have will work with a C4 or 4spd also. The only real difference is the FMX and C6 had the modulator in location that interfered with the cross memeber and Ford made the cross member into a triangular shape to clear it.
