To \"cam\" it or not?
I've finally finished my car..for the most part. Its a '67 coupe with a 289. The engine was bored .030 over, I added an edelbrock performer intake, holley 600 vac. sec. carb., and hooker headers. Its backed up by a stock c-4 and locking 3.55s. In a few years, I will sell this car, and I want to be able to get back every penny invested into it. Right now, thats possible, but I don't want to get caught up in a bunch of crap that ends up costing a lot and putting me past that point. I was considering a cam for more power, but I will only get it if the following conditions are met:
-Stall converter stays the same
-Current intake is sufficient (I dont want to get a cam that says my intake isn't good enough)
-Gas mileage doesn't go down the drain
-hopefully top speed will go up from the current 100 mph
-Power and Torque is gained....I dont want to have to go to a dyno to prove this, I want to FEEL the difference...thats the whole point of the cam change.
Is this feasible? Tell me what u think...BTW it would be nice if I didn't have to get new rockers or springs either, but I know I can't ask too much.........
