To \"cam\" it or not?

I've finally finished my car..for the most part. Its a '67 coupe with a 289. The engine was bored .030 over, I added an edelbrock performer intake, holley 600 vac. sec. carb., and hooker headers. Its backed up by a stock c-4 and locking 3.55s. In a few years, I will sell this car, and I want to be able to get back every penny invested into it. Right now, thats possible, but I don't want to get caught up in a bunch of crap that ends up costing a lot and putting me past that point. I was considering a cam for more power, but I will only get it if the following conditions are met:
-Stall converter stays the same
-Current intake is sufficient (I dont want to get a cam that says my intake isn't good enough)
-Gas mileage doesn't go down the drain
-hopefully top speed will go up from the current 100 mph
-Power and Torque is gained....I dont want to have to go to a dyno to prove this, I want to FEEL the difference...thats the whole point of the cam change.

Is this feasible? Tell me what u think...BTW it would be nice if I didn't have to get new rockers or springs either, but I know I can't ask too much.........

Something else I forgot to mention...since I'll be getting a different car in a couple of years, should I even "waste" my money on a cam. I say this, because time after time, I see people who have 5.0s, 302s, or 289s in mustangs, overall very similar to my car, and they're only running like 200 hp to the ground if they're lucky and 14.0s in the quarter. This seems inadequate b/c I could go out and buy an older cobra or camaro and break into the 13s for under $10,000.

If you do a swap I would not go bigger than 208/214 @ .050 or you will start to get into wanting a new converter as that will move your peak torque range a little too high for tha stock converter.

The 302 in our Mustang has a 204/214 Blue Racer cam (same specs as the Edlebrock Performer cam). Runs good with 3.25 gears, stock heads, Performer intake and carb and stock converter. Car has lots of good torque and has run the best of 9.19 @ 77 MPH in the 1/8 mile.

HI
When your talking Cobra, cAmArO to a 289 Stang your talking apples to oranges, to pairs. ($10,000.oo?) Seams like your wanting alot for nothing. Sink the $10,000.oo into you stang and you'll blow the doors off the stock Cobra, or cAmArO You'll be at the shut down lane of the track while there waiting to shift into second. If you want to beable to get ALL your money back then stop where you are now.. Sell it yesterday. Find you something with a 460 in it. Theres no replacement for displacement.
hope I didn't sound flamming, not meaning to..
Just my .02
