I'm planning on running three chamber flowmasters. Do you recomend the originals o the delta flows? Not sure which route to go yet.

Thanks

i have delta flows on my car. they are quieter than the originals. i guess it's more a question of how loud you want your car to be. I would go with the originals if I had a choice between the two. I have a 2 and 1/4 exhaust which the originals are no longer made for so I got stuck with the delta flows.

I used delta flow series 40 (2 1/2) on my car... sounds awesome. Can you still get the originals? Maybe it some old stock, cause I thought the delta flows replaced them. A very good muffler

I have the 50s on mine, and I'm very happy with them. They sound fairly mellow at idle, scream when I jump on it. Not as much of a hollow rumbly sound as the originals. My only complaint is that they are so long that it makes it a little to tight to get up and over the axle with the extensions.

I agree, the 3 chambers on my '66 are much more mellow than the 2 chambers I have on my '89 at idle. But when you stomp on in you can't really tell the difference except the 3 chambers don't have quite the bark. These are the old style flowmasters and not delta flows.

I have the 3 chamber Delta Flows (50 series). I love them. They sound a lot like the original 2 chamber 40s (which I switched from) but they're a little quieter, not as raspy, and they don't have anywhere near the resonance. That was my major selling point. The noise inside the car, while still there, is a lot quiter and doesn't drone like the original 40s do. Stuff doesn't shake and rattle anymore, and I can actually hear my expensive sound system instead of just looking at it.
