1965 mustang fastback!!!!

I have a few ?'s I can buy a 1965 mustang fastback for $2500 it needs floors 1 innerfender,qt panel, possiable framerails I have plenty of time on my hand.Is the car worth $2500 with a 289 no trans it was a factory V-8,C-4 car.The car is in rough shape.I would back half it and use it as a street car.So I really need to know if it is worth it.The 1965 mustang fastback has been a car I have been wanting for 10 yrs now.

if your going to back half it, maybe even R&P front end, and you've wanted one for along time, Id say go for it. Its not a high end car so the price is in ballpark, maybe talk the owner down abit and you'll have your dream car. A friend bought a 65 fastback for 10K Can. and needed alot of work, but was a 4 speed car. If you got the money and are happy with it, GO FOR IT.....

I would stay away from that. Framerail damage is very expensive to fix properly. Not to mention you said the rest of the car is in bad shape.

If the engine was shot, or needed a coat of paint that would be fine, but frame rails, exesive rust, or a crash are very time consuming, and hard to get right. I would pass

Not even. We just sold a 67 in mucho better shape than that for $750 less engine. It had good floors but needed fenders and work around the rear wheel openings. And the paint was pretty shot.

If you're doing the work yourself, I'd say make a run at it. Should be able to shave a couple of hundred off the asking with as much as it needs.

But, if you're going to have to pay the full load on the sheet metal and underside repairs (cowl too?), I'd keep looking.

As stated above, it's a good idea to buy the best you can afford. In the long run it saves time & money.

Good luck.
