Newbee....don't slam Us Mopar Guy's

Hey Guy's came across this board searching for some Headers for 70 Torino for a customer and I saw some interesting stuff on Ignition Q&A

We specialize in Fuel and Ignition systems, we really just work on the Mopar and Ford stuff....Us Ford and Mopar Guy's need to stick together so we don't get trampled by the 32,874,241 - 76 Slowmero's with a the infamous 350/350 with a 350 gear bowtie boys....LOL

{Edited by admin. Check your Private Messages}

In the meantime.....I've got this 70 Torino in my shop, the customer installed the engine and dropped it off to us for a fuel system, ignition system, headers, cooling system and a set of Spin-Tech mufflers......and we can't find a set of headers to fit the 351W in that chassis. So before I start hand fabbing a set I thought I'd consult with some experts and see if you guy's can help us out.

Thanks
Don

Quick search over at hedman shows some headers for what you've described. What tranny is he running? Any specific tube sizes your lookin for?

I talked to Hedman and they told me that because it was a 351 their headers wouldn't fit as they were designed for a 302 and the deck being taller would cause all sorts of problems with clearances???

Was I talking to a dam Chevy Guy?...LOl

Sounds like it, their website shows 3 diff headers for 351w apps in the 70 torino. I believe one of them is even a shorty. Now the website could be wrong, but I doubt they'd list em if they knew they didnt work.

Im with you on the Mopars, born and bred on Mopars. But, I bought my buddys Mustangs, so I guess I have to like them also. Anyway, you might try http://www.fordpowertrain.com/Headers.htm. They dont have that specific app listed, but they built another friend a set of headers whose app wasnt included in the list. The quality, fit, etc are the best Ive seen. You also might try Sanderson headers, long shot but who knows. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help Guy's loks like I came to the right spot!

Here's a pic of us Inialting one of the BBC BowTie boys in Mission BC Canada at the Old Time Drags last year.....from Canadian Classic Magazine.

Why is it that a 318 Mopar has to give a 502 Chevy .4 head start???? We were 100#s lighter....but come on, a 1/2 second...I caught by the 60' mark....LOL

Although the Mopar Muscle car Era was pretty short lived there's just something about a Hemi Dart or Cuda that get's the adrenaline flowing.

I always say...."There's Ford guy's and there's Chevy Guy's.....but everyone likes a classic Mopar Muscle Car"

At our local track they have a special day for each of the big 3....the Chevy show is actually second in participants and the lowest grandstand attendance, the Ford Day is the smallest but has a reasonable amount of spectators....the Mopar Nationals is second only to a Division Race in competitors and the spectators are in the top 4 events of the year.

You need to make a reservation to get a trackside Motorhome spot inside 1/2 track.
