Help De-coding

Could somebody please help me with my "new" Mustang. On the drivers side door it has a plate with the following numbers. 65A F D2 24T 84 2F. Thanks for any help, Andy.

You need to go on the internet and search for a 65 mustang vin decoder, those numbers will tell you when it was built and where, what type of rear end, engine, and transmission it had out of the factory, and what color it was.

I am guessing those numbers are under the words Body,Color,Trim,Date,DSO,Axle and Trans on the door plate.65A is a 2-door Hardtop,F is Guardsman Blue which was only on 64 1/2 models and not on 65's,D2 I have no info on,24T means the 24th day of June which is strange as according to my book the letters from N-Z were used if the model exceeds 12 months and A-M were used for the first year,84 is the district code for Home office Reserve,2F I have no info on either.
