BBF in Mustang problems

Hi Bob I dont think I am going to do the 8.8 with discs on the rear I was going to then I didnt have any 9" rears I have 3 now so I can go that route. I dont think the 8" I have is enough but after getting the motor straightend out. The FPA's are swap headers that are a somewhat mid shorty with a tri-y concept they are made specifically for this swap. I got a new master for the 69 that is for front discs rear drums that will work? Is there any particular brackets for the master cylinder to the firewall or just bolt it in? Thanks

The master you have sounds like it should work but make sure you get the manual pedal.they can be tough to find in the junkyards but you can buy one from many mustang suppliers. Those headers arent gonna give you the most power but since you already have them go for it! Whats your engine combo anyway? You wont need any special bracket to bolt the master to the firewall. Just bolt it up.BTW the new pedal goes into the lower hole on the pedal support you will need the pedal pivot shaft and bushings if its the same as a 68.

The motor is a Dove Block and heads exhaust ported, Stealth intake, CC's 280H, PAW bottom end rebuild kit with 460 steel crank, 8qt oil pan & windage tray etc. Bigs 780 VS Carb. as for the headers I had concern with fitment and bottoming out and it is a street driver I have to find a pedal and see what happens thanks again for your reply

Sounds like a nice healthy combo.I'll look around and see if I can help with the pedal.I just looked on ebay .There are several if you do a search for "mustang brake pedal".

If you are using an auto tranny then you will need a special shaft and bushing kit to mount the pedal into the lower hole in the pedal support. It is a hole about 3/4".

What year waterpump are you running? The 1969 T-bird water pump is a little shorter and will give you a little extra clearance between the engine and the radiator. My brother swapped a 429 in his 69 Mach 1 after the 428 blew up.He was able to use a stock fan but it had no spacer at all.

I was talking to someone today locally and they said that for the early Mustangs there is a block plate then the mount and then to the frame mounts I have the rubber mount bolted to the engines 3 holes then to the frame mount does this sound correct? As for the water pump I bought a becool from summit which I may be changing to a 69 T-bird but I want to get the header fitment first and I know there is no way these are going to fit and they are made for the 69 with the crites kit so I am thinking I have some thing wrong there I was even thinking about going to the stock type frame mounts and solid motor mounts for the room I am not sure I still am looking for a pin for the brake pedal thank God I havent finished the interior Thanks guys

I am not sure I under stand about the motor mounts, could you try to clarify this a little? With mine I bought the motor mounts and brackets and tranny crossmember all from Crites. The rubber mounts bolt to the engine block. The steel frame mounts bolt to the frame of course, then they connect together with a long bolt. I also have a turnbuckle connected from the head to the sway bar mount to keep from breaking a motor mount.
To clarify ,you are using an auto tranny ? Am I right?
If you need the pin for the pedal I might have one laying around.I just have to get into my storage garage in the next day or two.And I will let you know.

Bob that is how mine is set up I was told something different, I am going to try to post a pic because of the header clearance. I may be doing something wrong the crites instructions are not really clear. Yes I am using an auto trans I found one on ebay with pedal which I dont care if I get both but it ends in 6 days. Everything else I have found so far is for the clutch pedals. Thanks I will get those pics up
