Installing a 302 (345 HP) Ford Crate Motor in a 40 Ford Coupe--Questions

Hi, I am new to this Forum and need some help, please.

I am planning on installing a new Ford Racing crate engine (345 HP XB3)in my 40 Ford coupe. The coupe now has a 1968 302 donor engine with matching vintage C4. The engine has an Edelbrock 600 CFM carb on an aftermaker polished aluminum intake. Also has headers (not sure of Mfg) polished A/C compressor, alternator and SS flex fan. Engine bay looks great. I would like to use all the above shiny stuff on the new long block crate. The rear end is and 8" 2.79 from the donor. Runs great on the interstate.

My questions:
1. Since the front end is a Mustange II, I think, (2"x4" cross member tube) can I use a double sump oil pan to clear? (The crate comes with a front sump pan)
2. Since the crate comes with pulleys for a sepentine belt, what do I need to order to make it work with my v-belts...water pump...damper cover...etc.?
3. I want to use my C4, what frex plate will I need to match the crate engine and my old 1968 C4? (157 tooth; 164 tooth; 28 oz.; 50 oz.; ????)
4.Does someone have the dimension of a 302 crate with double v-belt pulleys and water pump measuring from front to back? (i.e. Do I need the short style water pump?)

I have many other questions but do not want to use the forums resources and bore too many folks with my questions. Perhaps someone on here has a 39 or 40 Ford and has put this engine in one.

Thanks you for your help.

Sounds like a great car, the new engine should give it just a little more pep.

The fact that your car/frame/suspension is more or less a custom fabrication effort, makes if real unlikely that any one can give a 100% answer to anything you mentioned. Since you are staying with the same engine family, the good news (as you already know) is that everything should bolt on. However, the inches and millimeters of what fits and where, is likely to be trial and error mockups. I have never really seen any 2 hot rods that were alike as far as what fits. There are just too many options. Hope someone can give you an answer?

I think the dual sump pan would work best for you. Also You will need to get a new water pump from an earlier v belt application since the pump that come with it will be a reverse rotation pump if it has a serpentine setup.I cant help with the flexplate.

Your intake won't fit 302 and 351 have different deck heights. Alt and A/C will fit not sure about brackets.
My '34 uses the dual sump with no problem. But not sure with the '40, you'll have measure. The post about the water pump is correct, you will have to get a new water pump.

I don't think I'd use the old style C4. The '70-'81 use a larger input shaft (among other things), and they will hold up better. Of course, you'll have to buy a new torque converter if you change trans. The flexplate tooth count depends on the size of the bellhousing (157t for the smallcase-fill, 164t for the larger pan-fill). See the C4 Forum for lots of good reading.
Is that a 351W? Did Ford change the balance on the 351W from 28 to 50 oz-in? The 302 balance changed to 50 oz-in around '80-'81.
