5.8L truck build

I was thinking of making my 91 f150 a bit more efficiant. I want to put on the world sr iron heads, trick flow upper and lower intake, and roller rockers and cam. what cam would you guys recomend for getting more efficiency/mileage, but not being weak at the same time
thanks

if its a speed-density system (probably is) you're limited in the choices of cam you'll be able to run, and maybe even the heads too. I'd upgrade to MAF for sure as it's more flexible in regard to engine mods.

what about if i simply did the heads and intake and throttle body. after that probably headers and exsaust. I dont really care about performance gains as much as i care about a strong engine that breaths well and is more efficient.would it be totally useless without a cam?

For a milage/torque build, you would probably be better off using windsor jr. or roush 180 heads, a GT-40 intake and a good set of headers. Leave the stock cam alone, but maybe use 1.7 roller rockers.

It would be a very nice truck motor, a torque monster.

youre going to have to adapt to a mustang type TB. Probably use a 70mm.

do you think that the combo i was thinking of will not be creating enough backpressure, and kill the low end? is that why you recomended the 180s instead of the bigger runner volume?
what would you have to do compute wise to run a bigger cam, and is it worth the hastle? just thinking about later

Are you mass air or speed density?

I've heard that people have had great suscess with custom cams on speed density, but I cant remember the name of the place the did the cams.
