351 Cleveland Gurus Only Please: 2V intake-4V heads

Have any of you ever installed a Performer 2V intake on 4V heads? I have a new Performer 2V intake and I was wondering what would happen if I installed it on my 4V engine, other than the obvious port mis-match. I vave installed 4V intakes on 2V heads, and they work quite well.

the port velocity would be the same as if you were using port plates I think, if you use 2V gaskets. Better bottom end compared to the 4V intake from the small runners. It would be worth a shot if you already have it handy.

Impossible. Performer won't cover the ports.

I have seen 4V heads used on a 400 truck and they welded the the intake manifold to seal. Not cheap needless to say, but if it could be done, it'd probably make a nice street setup. The problem is, with the machine work cost, it'd probably be just as cheap to get the right heads and add a little port work or get the right intake to match the heads

Not sure how the ports will line up. The 4V Perfomer has about the same size port, but the placement is a little different. Sorry - no Performer 2V's here to test for you. You can set it on the motor and try to get an idea of how it will fit. If the manifold ports line up inside the 4V ports, it's as good as it'll get.

Why would someone weld an intake to use on a 400? Just get the spacers and run a 351C intake on it.

2V Performer on 4V heads: No go -- physically smaller intake
4V Performer on 2V heads: Ok, but why?

He's asking about the 1st case

Especially considering the 2v Performer is quite possibly the worst intake still produced for a cleveland. It doesn't work worth a da*n with 2v heads, why would you want to try it with 4v heads?
If you really want a dual plane intake, I have a factory square bore cast iron intake for 4v heads I'll sell you cheap. It will work tons better than the 2v performer would.

I have a cast iron 4V intake, I just wanted to save a little weight on my Torino, and I have a new 2V Performer sitting on the shelf. I did not want to spend the $ 170.00 that a 4V Performer costs if I did not have to.
