belt and pulleys

Im putting together a 302 and only using a water pump, alternator, and the crank pulleys. I have a lot of miscellaneous pulleys but all the crank pulleys I have have 3 or better belt positions. Can anyone tell me what they are using pulleys from and if anyone has pictures it would help out alot. Thanks, by the way Im doing V-belt.

Well, I looked for a long time and the only pulleys I found at local j-yards had the water pump tensioned off of the power steering. Like you, I do not run power steering so I ended up using a crank pulley off an older 302 to run the alternator and then running the water pump with a Moroso Electric Drive kit.

In the early days, I fabbed a bracket to use an AC idler on the PS side of the water pump to take the slack out of the WP-crank belt. It worked, but looked a little hokey. That's why I switched up to the 6 rib setup.

some of the old 289 cars had just an alternator and water pump set up on them -- with a single belt - probably 65-66 mustangs --saw an old fairlane the other day with it --- but beware of some differences in balancer length and bolt pattern (3 or 4 bolt)

yeah that might be a problem. Im using a late model block with 4 bolt so all the old crank pulleys are 3 bolt. I was thinking about seeing if a machine shop could re-drill a 3 bolt. I wish someone just sold the kit.

Might just go with March pulleys if you can stand the price. They have a one V-belt setup that I used on my Falcon with just the alt, WP, and crank.
