You need to post more info....What crank and what oil pump do you have?

So your saying that the front crank throw is hitting the oil pump?

I had to grind the block "alot" by the oil pump mount and alittle on the "melling HV" oil pump for my 408 with an eagle crank.

If you cant remove enough metal from the pump, I'd have the crank throw turned down at the machine shop.

My brothers 408 also needed the oil pump ground slightly, did no harm and was easy to do.

Same deal on my 400 cranked 422 and RPM's Scat cranked 393. Just ground on the oil pump housing to create the clearance.

Yes this is normal. What type of pump you using???? For this problem just grind the oil pump a little thats all you need to do. I use a melling HV pump and do not run into this problem M-83HV is the part number....

I am just using a the old standard pump right know trying to get everything to work. I go ahead and start grinding on it for a practice run,and get the Hi-volume Melling ordered.
Thanks for the info
This is the only place I could find help after two weeks of phone calls.
