Eliminating the belt tensioner?

These under drives kinda suck for my charging system. So i think ill add the old pulley and get that adjustable mount to ditch the tensioner and take up the slack.Any one able to recommend one?

I have a serpintine system off a 84 GT and underdrive pullies.

With the addition of an electric fan my charging system is getting its ass handed to it and i would like to help correct it a little.

Ive seen what i want and need but never knew who made it or where to get it.Its the bracket that bolts to the bottom to mount the alternator with that adjustable bar that the top bolts to and the other part goes down to the water pump bolt or there abouts.

Sorry thats about the best description i can give since ive only seen them in pics and they werent too good.Im sure that someone knowes what im talking about.HOPEFULLY.

Why not just get a 160 amp alt and be done with it. I did that on my 408w "I use BEAVCO alt from ebay" with electric w/pump, dual electric fuel pumps, and dual high amp fans...with major under drive crank pulley and it charges just fine.

Why do you want to get rid of the tensioner? It is really the best way to tension a serpentine belt.
The adjustable heim-joint threaded rod you refer too will work, but not as well. You will also have to ask March Pullies if they have one in the length and for the bracket type you are using.

(I think) It's the March pullies you are talking about.
