Max RPM For Street?

What is normally the max RPM that you would run on the street if you had 3.89 gears and around a 26.5" rear tire? I am trying to build my 393 stroker engine and would like to know what RPM range is normally used. I want to size the engine correctly and not run out of my power band.

At 70 mph, you're going to be 3400~3600RPM, more or less.

I forgot to mention I will be using either a G-Force T-5 or the new Tremec tranny.

So at what RPM do I use to size my camshaft and intake? Do I use the freeway RPM as my top end?

I would get a cam that makes it's power between 2500-4500.

I have to disagree with the 2500 - 4500 range. Why build a stroker then limit it? A cam in the 2000 - 6000 rpm range will make you much happier. It really sucks to build up a nice motor only to find you picked the wrong cam - believe I know.

I agree why limit it to 6000rpm why not just go to 8000rpm ? I understand about picking wrong cam sucks, but to big of cam is worst then a cam thats a little small in my opinion.

I was not telling him to go with a cam that only makes power between 2500-4500rpm but look for one that makes good power in that range because thats where most cars on the street run. But I'd really recommend calling your favorite cam builder and asking for thier help.
