What\'s this car worth?
The oil cooler (I believe it goes in the lower radiator hose near the water pump and has short hoses going to the oil filter base), silicone radiator and heater hoses and certified speedometer were some of the main differences. Maybe stiffer shocks but these would be worn out by now anyway. Check the underside closely for signs of bottoming out. DPS officers aren't afraid to cut through medians, bounce over curbs, etc. while in pursuit. Look for signs of accident damage (paint overspray on mouldings, door handles, under the hood, etc.; part number stickers on control arms, tie rods, etc. indicating that that part has been changed[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]. Fender-benders are no big deal but a friend who worked as a mechanic at DPS when they ran Mustangs told of some major wrecks being rebuilt that he thought were totals. 5.0's are TOUGH motors and DPS has a good maintaince program. They burn up a lot of brakes but use the best pads and replace rotors if any hint of scoring or overheating. They never repair a flat tire-not even a slow leak but always put a new one on (speed-rated of course). Drive it over a rough, cobbly street to check for squeaks and rattles. A thoroughly thrashed car will be full of squeaks and rattles. PS I still haven't heard: Have you stomped on that Chevelle yet?
