What motor is this?

I got the numbers off the motor in the stang and here they are EOAEO3 and the last digit is hard to make out but i think its either a C,6,or a G.

Anyone know what it is?The local dealership says its an 80 t-bird 302.

http://www.tmaauto.com/tma-auto/show...3714#post3714. scrow down almost to the bottom.(E) 80's (o)1980 (A)fullsize Ford (E) engine division and I'm thinking the last digits are the casting dates.Casting numbers will not tell you the ci of a motor. Was a t bird considered a fullsize car ?

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

So it is in fact a 302 block?Thats a relief i was starting to feel ill about thinking i dumped as much money time and effort as i have into a worthless 255!

I was told that it figured out to a 1980 T-Bird 302 by a local dealership before i rebuilt it thats why i chose it was because it was an older 302 and was seasoned.

Thanks i was just wanting to make sure that the parts department at ford didnt screw up.

Yes to my knowledge the T-Bird was a full size car.It was a fox body i do know for sure if that matters.

I didnt see where you talking about.I just seen a mustang and a bunch of old school motors but nothing about the 1980 302 70 was the newest i seen.

Can anyone FULLY decode this and tell me when it was made and all that stuff?I understand the stuff youve already wrote up top but whats the rest mean?Im probably beating a dead horse but it says "CP" next to the distributors hole and along the valley 3 or more times.

Since you've already had it apart you knew what it was to begin with.

BTW to my knowledge "CP" is for the Cleveland assembly plant, as that is where it was built.

Yes i had it apart and was told what it was but i figured why not run it by you guys just to make sure.I seen another guy had his ran so i figured what the hell.

What really got me was someone saying "EO" was a 255 not a 302.

Just so i know for future reference what in the ID there tells you its size?

I didn't check the #. Since 80 and 81 were the only years the 255 was made it was a safe bet that a SBF with that year on it could be a 255.

As to your original Q(What motor is this?), it led me to beleive that you didn't know what size or engine family it belonged to, not what it came from.
