What is the stock hp rating for a 74 cleveland with 2bbl heads?

Can't confirm but from this site it's 259

Hmmm...that must be 4V which wasn't in the big cars...so I guess CKelly's closer to the right number.

The one's I posted are from the 1974 Engine Annual, so it should be the Ford specs. SHOULD be...[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]

What seems to be holding them back. A couple of years before, wasn't the motor have 100 more horse.

New SAE ratings went into effect in 73 or 74 I think. Not nearly as optimistic as the older factory ratings. Which were not necessarily realistic.

The 4 bbl heads will have a "4" cast into the corner of the heads where the valve covers meet the head.
