Worth milling choke horn?

Is it worth the work to mill the choke horn off of my 4777 650dp carb? I can do it on a brideport, but I'm wondering if it is worth the effort. Also should I just mill it off flat, or contour it inbetween the primaries and the secondaries like the hp carbs have? Pics of someone whose done this would be a great help. Thanks, Brandon. Also, how many horsepower would I gain approx? G-teched my car yesterday, came up with 95.7mph, 16.05 et, and 195 rwhp. I'm thinking that it isn't right?
The specs are:
306
D0oe-c windsor cast heads fully ported, chambers polished 1.84,1.54 valves
kb .200 dome pistons
stock rods and crank with arp bolts
280/285 advertised, 230/232 @.050, .550/.550 lift, and a 110 lsa hydro roller cam
weiand stealth intake
Timing at 14 intital and 34 total to avoid pinging
92 octane, non-oxygenated gas, best I can get here, will not run on 89 without pinging
Plugs are autolite racing AR-33
650 dp, with 68,76 jets
1.5" primary headers, and 2" dual exhaust
4-speed, 2.79 gears.

Worth milling choke horn?

If the air cleaner lid sits close to the carb it can be worthwhile to mill the choke horn, otherwise it's not really worth the hassle.

i was thinking about doing that to my 4150 650dp as well, i'm running a 4" x 14" k&n cleaner.

on another note do the k&n xtreme lids make any noticeble difference or are they just for show?

i've noticed almost a 1 mph increase at the track with no other changes other than taking my entire air cleaner assembly off the carb.

Man all that motor and no gears!!!!!!!!! Get rid of the 2.79’s and put some 3.73 or 4.10’s and hold on.

As far as milling the choke tower be careful, I had TPC build me a 750DP and they milled the tower too much leaving just two threads in the hole for the air cleaner stud. Only took a day or so before the air cleaner fell off. Never again will I do business with them, Biggs all the way next time.

When i milled mine off i left the boss for the stud to go into for max amount of thread ingagement. I dont think it would make that much diffrents leaving it.

Yes, I'd leave the whole "post" for the stud, what should my motor be putting out for horse at the rear wheels, there is no way that 195 can be right, is there?
