welding class

Well i decided that I want to weld in my own subframe connectors some time next season (no need to do it now in chicago its cold) and I am think about taking a welding class at the local community college. Anyone take one? I think it will be a good idea to learn some basics and get some practice.

I'm taking one here in SoCal right now!
It's welding 101. Oxyfuel and filler rod to start and by the end of the semester I'll be in SMAW ( Arc ). We will learm some MIG ( GMAW ) as well.
Take one. It's a great experience and you'll learn the right way!

I took a countinuing education class last year. I had a pretty good background to begine with, but I did learn a ton of stuff. Go for it, knowledge is a good thing!

I go every year. I took 2 years of welding/metal trades in HS as well as 2 years of Machine shop and the last semester of the MS in CNC programming.

I take the welding class every year just to stay up to date on welding skills. We don't weld much here at home (in fact both welders are broken at the moment[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img]). If you don't do it very often, or if you're just beginning....it's a experience that is worth a ton. Welding is a skill that ALL hotrodders should learn. Never know, ya might be able to make some money at it too!
