Any Ford Block Casting # sites out there? FE style

Looking to identify FE block. Have some stamped #'s to put in.
It's carrying 390 or 410 heads...

You are not going to really know until you remove the oil pan and check the bore there was not many specific markings espenially for the 390/410 both carry a 4.05 bore and the cranks are different 390 - 3.78 stroke 410 - 3.98 if you get some #'s on the crank I can get you that ID Good Luck

Thanks 69, but the motor is complete assembled and ready to run..... I do know the hole in the crankshaft for the TQ. Covrtr. is right on 1.25" or there abouts.

I'm trying to Identify this motor for a friend w/o him having to tear it down.

I have a real good line on some good numbers to chase that aren't raised on the block like normal castings are (library work), and I am sure the heads are 390/410 castings from 65-68 with a cast code of '67. They could be either.

Thanks for the input!

The FEs are nearly impossible to identify by numbers. You might try sticking something down the cylinder onto the piston and gently rolling it over and see if you can measure the stroke.

Thanks for all the help!

I think the head's are coming off to verify...

The casting #'s on the side of the block were destroyed or covered up. My guess was so they could sell it as a 428 when it's really a 390 most likely...

Thanks again!
