PA Manual Valve Bodies for my C4?

Im thinking of getting one of these reverse manual valve bodies and wanted to know what your opinions and outlooks on these were?I like the idea of shifting it and controlling the shifts myself.A friend has this on his AOD and theyre pretty cool but i didnt know if they cause premature wear or would be stressing my tranny.

The part number is PMA-PA26304 is it a descent peice or should i just keep the stocker i have?

Yeah youre right except for the fact that told me what i already knew. And not to mention i seen that post already.

Im guess what im asking is there any performance benefits to it?Does it reduce or prolong tranny life and things of that nature.

Also with a reverse manual valve body should you upgrade the SERVO?Or is it a waste of money if youre doing the shifting now?

PA makes a very good valve body. From 1-10 i would give the pa valve body a 10. i been running the same PA valve body for 4 years now. it still work as it was still new.

Benefits of any manual valvebody: faster consistant engagements

Faster engagements prolong the clutches life

You should upgrade the servo because thats what puts pressure on the clutches and they apply engagements faster, thats why most come with their own billet cover to reduce warping under the extreme pressure. Also use a c5 pump and/or case or do the pump/lube mods to convert that c4 to specs that gregaust posted to get some fluid moving in that thing.

There is a post around that talks about the differences in servo's apply and release area, do another search

Use a deeper preferably aluminum pan for the transmission.
go with the heavy duty clutchpacks, shift band, and servo.

separate cooler for your trans fluid... It's really the torque
converter that heats up the fluid.

If you're planning a Nitrous or supercharged application
then by all means use heavy duty input shafts and gearsets
All of which can be had from vendors such as B&M, ATI,
TCI etc...
