Motorcraft Carburetor for 1973 Mach - 1 Mustang

Folks, I am an newbie here , so please bear with me.

We have a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach-1 witn a 315C-4V engine. And it has a Motorcraft carb part number D40Z 9510 F or G. How do we interpret this number?

We want to replace this carb with a new original unit, is it possible to locate a new part for this item and how?

Or, would you recommend to get a remanufactured item, and how do I find them?

Or, is there a repair kit fot this carb? If so, where do I get it from??? what is the kit number?

Cheers

The tag number is what you would use to get a refresh kit from an auto parts store. As for an NOS unit - good luck. They haven't made those in nearly 30 years. If you want it profesionally redone (like for a restoration) you might contact Pony Carbs. Otherwise, just clean it up, put a kit in it and go.

SStibet,
PM me if you want those #'s diagnosed by a professional re-builder. He can also re-build your carb to keep it original. All his work Carries a Lifetime Guarantee. I can give you his e-mail if you like. He's up in Montana, and is a very reasonable re-builder. He don't just throw in a set of gaskets... You get the works and a perfect working and Guaranteed carb out of it. He did my 2bbl from my 67 f-100, and when I hit it, it dame near takes my head off, and it idles perfect also.

Folks, thanks for the advice. But we are in Turkey... So we have to purchase either a new carb, or a re manufactured carb, or a repair kit.

Please give me part numbers & supplier info for the above options.

you may be stuck ordering a $300+ replacement 4bbl from

Summitracing.com

I believe they do international shipping.

The carb kit from local retailers would probably run you less than $30 but they wouldn't ship overseas.

If you like, I'll be the middleman - Send me the money (No, really, I'm serious) and I'd find you the kit and ship it to you. You'd obviously need to include the cost for shipping, but if you can't find a carb shop here in the states to help you, let me know.
