Where can I get/make the stuff to rebuild a 4 speed shifter?

I'm gonna TRY to redo my factory SROD 4 speed shifter with like 287,000 miles on it. To say it's well worn out is an understatement.

I ordered a new Hurst Super Shifter, but they can't seem to get the right install kit (even though they list one).

Without spending a war pension, what's a good way to freshen this thing up? I USED to use cut down shock bushings, but I don't think it'll work on this one, and the rails are pretty worn out as well. Might be able to get them welded up and redrill them or something. The handle has a good 6" of play in it, and it has about 14" of throw. I'll not be speed shifting anytime real soon.

I figure somebody makes a rebuild kit that'll work (even if it needs modded a little) on this thing. Other then the longer handle, the linkage looks about like any other old Ford 4 speed.

Cool, just emailed them to ask. Who knows? Maybe I'll have the stuff to put my new Hurst in next year...

Try Mark at toploadloderheaven.com. He has rebuild kits for most toploaders and shifters. Plus, he's a very nice person to do business with.
