gas per mile

I am looking at a 85 or 87 ford mustang, with a 4cyl, five speed, is this a good car for the freeway?
all i want is good g.p.m at 75mph.

They didn't seem to have a 5 speed in 85 that wasn't behind a 2.3 turbo, but the 4 speed got 23city 29hiway, and a 87 WITH a 5 speed got 25city 31hiway. Keep in mind, that's likely at 65mph, you'll see a noticeable decline (I have) much above that...

I'm a Ford guy, but drive a 78 GMC 1500...with a 350/t350.
i get 21mpg @60mph(3.08 rear) but that's with no hills....I drive up and down i-14 all the time, do you think this would be a great high~way car???[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]

I don't know if it'll be great, but if it's in decent shape it should do OK. I like Crown Vics, Lincolns, big Mercs and stuff myself. Most of the newer ones will easily get 25+ on the road and are WAY more comfy to be in then a Mustang, but I'm getting old...
