Plug Gap

What is the factor(s) that determine the gap of a spark plug?
Thanks I have about 9.5:1 comp on my 347 if that means anything.

Plug Gap

This is going to be another hot topic.

I have tried many different gaps with my MSD in my 65 with a carbed 5.0, .035 or in that range seems to work the best with my setup. I dont think you can go wrong with that. BTW I use NGK V-Power and am very pleased with those over other brands.

All in all I am sure the type of plug, and the setup will determine what works best for you, so experimentation will be the only way to find out.

Plug Gap

If your running a high energy ignition, start from .035 & open up the gap .005 @ a time when you get to the point where it looks like someone scribbled lengthwise with a pencil go back .005 if it doesnt make the pencil marks then call it good. on naturally asperated engines if your running Nos or supercharger you'll want a smaller gap
