edelbrock rpm

I have a 289 that I want to rebuild. If I port the stock 1965 289 heads would the RPM cam work with the engine? Right now it has dish top pistons with valve reliefs. I don't know what compression this cam likes. It will have a prepped c-4 and will be a daily driver. It will go in a '66 fairlane. Will the cam run good with 289 heads or will it be better off with 351 or E7te heads? I want to learn how to rework heads so and all the information in head porting is real helpful, so I'm asking ya'll to steer me in he right direction. Thanks alot.
