Port matching Intake to Heads? Yes or no?

How much power will be gained by port matching an intake to the heads? I'm thinking it won't make much difference.Anybody got some real world info?

Yes it will make a diffrence ifits a real bad miss match. But it its close not too much.

I'd always check it. If it's off especially bigger on the intake's side, get 'em matched.

The Vic Jr intake ports are smaller than a 1250 Fel Pro gasket. I'm sure the AFR185 head ports are larger than the intake ports and a 1250 gasket but since the motor is still in the car with a Performer RPM manifold I'm not sure how big the head ports are.I think the ports are similar to the larger 1262 Fel Pro. If I match the intake to the gasket how far in should the porting be?How much more power is this worth? 5HP?25HP?

If the intake port is smaller than the head port, there isnt an appreciable gain. 1-2 horse I'd say. If its the other way around, maybe 5, nothing huge

If the intake is smaller, you probably will not notice much of anything. If it's the other way around, it can effect upper RPM HP. How much really depends on how bad it is. worse case, I'd say as much as 20HP on your combo, but that's a pretty bad mismatch.
