1993 5.0 mustang questions

i know mostly the older ford stuff. need to help a friend get 400 hp on a rebuild. is this engine efi (didnt look at engine yet.).? roller cam?, mass air sensor? i was thinking edelbrock heads, better cam, 331 stroker, larger injectors (assuming efi & mass air), shortie headers. anyone have any other thoughts?
all help appreciated.
thanx

1993 5.0 mustang questions

400 fly wheel HP?

For your first question, in stock trim the '93 5.0 is EFI (w/MAS), has a roller cam, and hyper. pistons.

The easiest (and probably cheaper) way to make the power is with a power adder...either supercharger or turbo. Even then you might need to consider some induction changes.

Going NA, a 331 stroker kit, AFR heads, Holley SysteMax or Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and a custom cam should get you in the neighborhood too. All the other supporting items as well: MAS, injectors, CAI, full exhaust, a custom tune, etc.

Don't forget to consider drivetrain upgrades to handle such a large increase in output.
